W Is For Weird Dreams

I have had a couple of weird dreams lately. The first one involves one of my friends from grade school. In it, he took me thrift store shopping and we bought a pony. Yes, a pony. In what world would a thrift store be selling a pony and why would I buy one? I can barely stand my dog and he is a lot smaller than a pony. Well, maybe not a lot. He has put on quite a bit of weight recently.

My other weird dream involved my first boyfriend. In this dream, we went to the movies with my niece, Anna. She kept hitting on him and I told her to stop or I would tell her husband. "All it take's is one phone call" I told her. He left to get popcorn and we were in some sort of lobby when these two guys walked in and one guy said something mean to me and when my friend returned, I told him I wanted to go home. He then turned into Shaggy from Scooby Doo, (yes the carton version) and drove away in the Mystery Machine. It doesn't get any weirder than that, huh?

So what do these dreams mean? Any thoughts?

I think weird dreams are just a load of jumbled nonesense of an over active brain at night time. I have loads of weird dreams. Once when I was expecting my middle daughter I dreamt I gave birth to a sausage. We put it in a tupperware box in the fridge and spent all our time trrying to stop friends and family from eating it.

Mr. G. once in his dream had to hide behind a hedge, I heard a big boom and found him in the middle of the room with the bedsheets draped around him. Fortunately he didn't hurt himself ! and that wasn't the first time, lol !
So your dreams or not so weird, at least you stayed in your bed !

Weird dreams let us stand back a bit and escape reality. Our creativity continues on while sleeping and I love that you let us join in on your exploration. I've been wondering lately if, at that moment when you "fall" asleep if that is a glimpse into the doorway to heaven....somehow I think we'll never be in sleep mode once in heaven and God has allowed the act of falling asleep as a teaser for that transition to His presence....Ah well, too heavy?

My boyfriend and I have also been having weird dreams lately. He always seems to have vivid and often violent dreams. I have no idea what they mean.

First dream: Maybe adult life is feeling a bit complicated and you are secretly yearning for the simple things of childhood?

Second dream: Same interpretation.

Sounds like you need to indulge the child in you a bit and maybe divest yourself of any obligations/duties that are not absolutely necessary. Or hire some help to remove a bit of the stress...

Of course, I am just an armchair dream gazer.

definitely thoughts about men and animals. That's interesting that your niece showed up. I used to have a book that related subjects in dreams to other things. I'm sure that pony would be significant! Have you watched cartoons lately? {:-D

I have weird dreams all the time and rarely remember the details but do remember they're weird. Thanks for stopping by. I'm still in Patagonia, so having a little trouble keeping up with the blog reading but will get back to it when we get back to the states. Take care.

i think it is very interesting that your dreams contained a pony (every kid's dream) and cartoon characters (I still love cartoons). Were you doing a lot of work on your Ebay account before bed?

My friend,
All I can say is that you are a greater dreamer (smile). Thank you for sharing this lovely story (dream).

Yep, weird. Your post has certainly engendered some interesting comments. I have enjoyed the laughter all this has evoked. I suppose everyone has weird dreams, but we don't necessarily remember them.
