Saturday Centus: Suprise I'm Pregnant

"You can't get pregnant on the pill. You must have done something wrong." I remember saying these words to my coworker in 2008. A few months later, I would be eating those same words.

It was March 2009. I had been feeling queasy lately and was constantly tired. I had missed my period and wondered could I be pregnant? Nah. I'm on the pill. Then I remembered my coworker and the conversation we had. There is an very small percentage of that happening. I went and got one of those home pregnancy test. I showed the test to my husband. "Suprise! I'm pregnant".

Hmmm! A clever musical tat you have there. My DIL got a tat of two geckos chasing each other around her navel when she was in college. When she was pregnant with twins, those geckos turned into dinosaurs!!

Did you miss a pill? I sure hope so. Otherwise, that "safety" rating on bc pills is not what it's cracked up to be!

Sue I did not miss any pills I was very diligent about taking them everyday at the same time. Judie The tat is Calvin and Hobbes dancing. It is one of my favorites. I didn't want my belly piercing to close so that is why there is a huge piercing through my belly :-)

Nothing is 100% guaranteed except how much happiness little surprises can bring! Would love to have seen a picture of your husband's face when you told him. :)

This kind of thing is always a shock. There's a miniscule chance of it and so it has to happen to someone, but of course we never expect it to happen to us. That's human nature. It's bad luck in a way, but very good luck too, and it seems to have worked out very well!

Sweet story !
Glad everything worked out for you. I wouldn't have taken that news well at all. I love that you admitted you chiding your coworker about getting PG on the pill and then you did too. Wonder what the percentages of that happening are ?

Well either it was Karma or you were just meant to have a baby at that time. Either way I'm sure it all turned out beautifully:-)

When looking at the idea of contraception, it's true nothing apart from abstinence seems to prevent pregnancy 100% of the time. Such is life. :)
I enjoyed reading your story. It holds the truth for a number of people.
I liked the comment, "An "uh-oh" blessing!"

I, too, can testify that the pill doesn't always work! With this photo, no wonder you won a prize and the words on the mosaic are good.
Thanks for your visit. Do come again.
